5 Day 'En Plein Air' Oil Workshop

During this 5-day workshop, we'll be focusing finding and developing your ideas. We'll be developing ideas by learning to gather information in the field and then painting mostly outdoors, with some indoor painting time.

This workshop is open to painters at an intermediate level and up. All mediums are welcome.

Scott Christensen

Scott L. Christensen is an internationally recognised landscape painter known for his works in both oil and gouache. His paintings have been exhibited across the United States with works in major collections including Grand Teton National Park's Craig Thomas Visitor Center and the Denver Art Museum. Based in Victor, Idaho, Scott grounds his work in direct observation, developed through extensive outdoor study and refined in the studio. Alongside his own painting practice, he teaches and mentors artists worldwide through Adventure of Painting, his online art education platform offering in-depth courses on landscape painting, composition, and process.

3 STEP PAYMENT PLAN

Payments can be made in 3 instalments:

40% deposit at the time of booking
30% due exactly 24 weeks before the workshop
30% due exactly 16 weeks before the workshop

2nd Instalment (30%) - 24 weeks before: 12 Jan 2026

Final Instalment (30%) - 16 weeks before: 09 Mar 2026

Cancellation Policy:

• Up to 23 weeks before workshop: lose 40% of the total cost

• 24–17 weeks before workshop: lose 70% of total cost

• Within 16 weeks of workshop: no refund

What students need to bring: Please bring your own en Plein Air travel easel as well as your outdoor painting kit. On-site, we will have paper towels, brush cleaner and limited oil paints (ask ahead). We do have a few easels to lend out and so if you aren't able to travel with yours, please ask ahead in plenty of time.
